“keep going and screw all the haters.” (Elicaño, 2012) This is a lovely post by my friend, AJ. I am in SOH, and I love it. My friends know that I fought to be where I am. It has been more difficult than anything I’ve ever done before. People sometimes judge me and think that I only did this because it was the easy way. If I wanted the easy way, I should have followed what my family wanted for me. Heck, I wouldn’t have had to fight and prove myself. Sure, I sometimes feel intimidated by the number of students in the other schools. Sure, the other students boast about the opportunities they have, but that doesn’t make SOH any less awesome and that doesn’t make me hate the other schools. Just so you all know, I too have very close friends who are in the other schools because that’s where they really want to be, and I am equally proud of them as I am to my own school. Goddamnit, we are all amazing. Be proud and love what you do because if you don’t even have the heart for where you are right now, then there will never be enough opportunities in the world to satisfy you. But if you truly love what you do, then believe that you will be blessed with opportunities that might even exceed all your expectations. So like what my friend said, do it for the love of it. It will be difficult no matter where you choose to be, but just keep fighting and you will never regret it. This goes for everyone, not just us Ateneans.
